Few firsts

Few firsts:

First time since my birth, I am living in a town without a movie theater. Don't have a "Dish" either to watch Bollywood block busters either..

First time since coming to America, I am living in a town where they don't serve liquor on Sunday. And the first town I know that prohibited sell of liquor till 2006. It consumes less alchohol than Gandhi's Gujarat. And yes..one first establishment where a bartender pours triple Johny black for the price of one.. beats Nemos in Detroit all the time Matt, David and Eric !!!

First time since coming to America, my wife is suffering in a town without a single MALL. She is very unhappy not having the opportunity to return merchandise without having to anser any questions.

First time since coming to America, I am parking free at the airport when I fly to my Michigan home. Yes, no limits on the number of days. No, I do not fly in corporate jet

First time in my life, at a drive through fast food, a lady in a car in front of me, a total stranger, paid for my lunch.

First time I have discovered that it is actually cheaper to live here than my home town Godhra in India. Seriously, with better acommodations, city services and health facilities

First time in America, I am living in a state that is governed by a young man born in India. He would have never made it to be the chief minister of Gujarat at such an early age, especially if he was not from Gujarat and a Hindu

First time since starting to work in America, my monthy transportation or commuting cost is on average less than $25.00 per month. Ok.. I do have to park on a gravel parking lot. But, I walk less than 10 steps from my car to my office. Seriously, I do not miss my glass walled corner office from where I could count ships gliding over Detroit River along the skyling of the city of Windsor, Canada.

First time in America, I wll be paying the least amount of increase in the monthly rent for my one bedroom apartment at the expiration of the lease this month.. $5/month. My wife is going to negotiate that increase with the manger lady. Just kidding.....Mind you, these are good apartments, better than 80% of the apartments in the cities like New York, San Francisco, Detroit, Chicago- All the cities where I actually have stayed in the apartments.

To be continued
