In simple "Yes" or "No"
Should I rob a bank?- "No"
Is it wrong to rob a bank keeping ill earned money and distribute it to poor people? "Yes"
Can I pick drug dealer's pocket to pay for my sick mother's medical bills? "No"
Is it wrong to con someone to buy milk for my infant child? "Yes"
"Yes" or "No", we always get the right answer from ourselves. That is the voice of our conscience.
That voice leads to the path of happiness. It is a long path.
But, we are the prisoners of our circumstances. We have to rise to these circumstances to meet our obligations. Acceptance of reality is the path to the freedom from these circumstances. Our intelligence dictates and overcomes our conscience.
So we abandon the long path.
We find the short cuts.
Little do we know that our choice cuts us short.
The venom of corruption begins to flow in our veins and in our very being.
We forget simple "yes" and "no".
We justify. We rationalize. We argue and articulate.
We become unhappy
Then, we blame the corrupt system and the leaders who manage it.
Wouldn't it be better to listen to ourselves instead?
